Ebey’s Landing National Historic Reserve

The vistas, woodlands, and fertile prairies of Ebey's Landing National Historical Reserve are much the same today as they were over 100 years ago when New England sea captains were drawn to Penn Cove and farmers to Ebey’s Prairie. We welcome you to explore the Reserve and visit the parks and public use areas.

Greenbank Farm

Greenbank is located on the narrowest area of Whidbey Island. Visit the living history Greenbank Farm built in the early 1900’s, now a popular tourist destination and working farm. Attractions include a winery, several specialty shops and cozy cafe where you will find delicious fruit pies. Also visit the spectacular Meerkerk Rhododendron Gardens, local antique stores and the turn-of-the-century general store. Outdoor enthusiasts with enjoy hiking the many forest and beach trails.

Keystone

Keystone is a small unincorporated community, located 3 miles south of Coupeville. The Washington State Ferry leaves from Keystone Harbor across the Admiralty inlet to deliver ferry travelers to the Olympic Peninsula via Port Townsend. The name Keystone was created by Island County government as a promotional logo for the Alaskan-Yukon-Pacific Exposition, an event similar to the world’s fair, held in Seattle in 1909. The idea was to capitalize on sea traffic that could only enter Puget Sound via the Strait of Juan de Fuca, which goes right past Whidbey. The full logo read, “Whidbey Island, the Keystone of the…
